Museum Docent Program

         
 

Docents are volunteers who are specially trained to facilitate the educational experience of all visitors. Docents have knowledge of the Museum's collections and featured exhibitions, and use this knowledge to facilitate learning, employing techniques and strategies for engaging and involving audiences of all ages. A docent's mission is to connect the viewer with the work of art; connect the visitor with the Museum; and connect the Museum with the larger community.

Recruitment and training for the next new class of docents is scheduled for Fall 2013. Selection is competitive; interested individuals are welcome to submit an application in advance to be on file.
